SARAJEVO (Bosnia and Herzegovina), November 15 (SeeNews) – The number of mobile phone users in Bosnia and Herzegovina rose to 3,585,604 at the end of June, up 8.6% year-on-year, Bosnia's statistical office said on Friday.
The mobile penetration rate in Bosnia and Herzegovina rose to 101.54% at the end of June from 94% at the end of the previous quarter, the statistical office said in a quarterly report.
On the other hand, mobile telephone network traffic edged down 0.2% year-on-year in the second quarter to 569,037,510 minutes. The number of sent SMS messages dropped by 11% on the year to 119,157,496.
The total number of broadband subscribers at the end of June amounted to 707,543, up from 686.546 at the end of June 2018.
At the same time, the number of fixed telephone lines fell by an annual 2.7% to 597,285 in the second quarter of 2019, whereas fixed telephone network traffic decreased by 7.3% on the year, to 396,021,252 minutes.
Bosnia and Herzegovina has a population of some 3.5 million.
