April 23 (SeeNews) - The ministry of energy, mining and industry of Bosnia and Herzegovina's Federation said it has signed an agreement with the entity's Development Bank to provide 5.7 million marka ($3.1 million/2.9 million euro) for subsidies to support interest rates on loans for large companies and exporters.

Bosnia's Federation to support businesses with loan subsidies

The ministry will subsidise interest rates of 2.5% on loans provided by commercial banks through the entity's credit-guarantee programme for large companies and exporters, it said in a press release on Monday.

All borrowers in the credit-guarantee programme will automatically benefit from the interest rate subsidies for 2024, provided they consistently meet loan repayment obligations, the ministry said.

The Federation is one of two autonomous entities that form Bosnia and Herzegovina. The other one is the Serb Republic.
