Non-life insurance premiums increased 7% on the year to 359.5 million marka in the period under review, while life insurance premiums went up 13.7% to nearly 100 million marka, according to figures posted on the website of the Federation’s insurance supervision agency.
Adriatic Osiguranje was the top insurer in the non-life segment with GWPs of 50.3 million marka in the January-September period, up from 46.6 million marka a year earlier. It was followed by Sarajevo Osiguranje and Euroherc Osiguranje, with premiums of 45.9 million marka and 45.6 million marka, respectively.
In the life insurance segment, Sarajevo-based Grawe Osiguranje ranked first with 23.3 million marka in premiums in January-September, up from 21.8 million marka in the same period of 2021. It was followed by Uniqa Osiguranje and Vienna Osiguranje, with life premiums of 21.9 million marka and 21.3 million marka, respectively.
At the end of September, 20 insurance companies operated in Bosnia’s Federation.
The Federation and the Serb Republic are two autonomous entities that form Bosnia and Herzegovina.
