Non-life insurance premiums increased 18.6% on the year to 50.3 million marka in the month under review, while life insurance premiums went down 6.4% to nearly 10.7 million marka, according to figures posted on the website of the Federation’s insurance supervision agency.
ASA Central Osiguranje was the top insurer in the non-life segment with GWPs of 8.1 million marka in January, up from 5.7 million marka in the same month a year earlier. It was followed by Sarajevo Osiguranje and Adriatic Osiguranje, with premiums of 7.2 million marka and 6.6 million marka, respectively.
In the life insurance segment, Vienna Osiguranje ranked first with 2.3 million marka in premiums in January 2024, down from 2.7 million marka in January 2023. It was followed by Grawe Osiguranje and Uniqa Osiguranje, with life premiums of 2.3 million marka and 2.2 million marka, respectively.
At the end of January, 19 insurance companies operated in Bosnia’s Federation.
The Federation and the Serb Republic are two autonomous entities that form Bosnia and Herzegovina.
