Bosnia's Federation H1 gas consumption up 2.2%, electricity output at 3,963 GWh

October 17 (SeeNews) - The government of Bosnia's Muslim-Croat Federation said the entity's gas consumption rose 2.2% in the first half of 2012 and was 2.5% lower than planned.

Industrial installations accounted for 24% of total gas consumption over the review period, the government said in a statement.

The Federation, which imports all of its gas, has a supply arrangement for Russian gas that expires at the end of 2012.

In the first half of the year, domestic electricity output amounted to 3,963 gigawatt-hours (GWh), or 84.4% of plan, while electricity consumption totalled 4,322 GWh.

The Federation imported 273,539 tonnes oil derivatives in the first six months of 2012, down 16% on the planned volumes and about 8.0% less than a year earlier. Consumption of oil derivatives fell around 5.0% to 389,059 tonnes.

Domestic coal production amounted to 3,390,474 tonnes through June or 93.71% of the planned output. Coal export volumes added up to 92,756 tonnes. Total coal consumption was 3,301,601 tonnes.

The Federation is one of the two autonomous entities that make up Bosnia and Herzegovina. The other one is the Serb Republic.
