The Federation’s Road Directorate has signed a total of nine contracts with domestic and Croatian construction companies for the upgrade of road sections most of which are located along the EU-defined Corridor Vc that passes through Bosnia, the directorate said in a statement.
Corridor Vc connects the Hungarian capital Budapest with the Croatian Adriatic port of Ploce and has a 320 kilometre stretch on Bosnian territory. The Muslim-Croat Federation is one of the two autonomous parts that form war-divided Bosnia. The other is the Serb Republic.
The selected companies and consortia include Bosnia’s HP Investing, Zvornikputevi, Dobojputevi, Sarajevoputevi, GP Put, Bosnaputevi, Krajinaputevi and Hering and Croatia’s Konstruktor Inzenjering.
The contractors were chosen after international tenders. The works will be financed with loans from the European Investment Bank and the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development, the Road Directorate said without elaborating.
