September 28 (SeeNews) - The number of tourists staying in Bosnia's Muslim-Croat Federation in the first eight months of 2012 rose by 15.2% on the year to 333,168, official statistics showed on Friday.

Tourists spent 681,777 overnights in the Federation through August, up by 15.6% from a year earlier, the Federal Office of Statistics said in a statement.

In August alone, tourist arrivals soared by an annual 21.6% to 52,046, while overnights jumped by 32.9% on the year to 127,225. Most foreign tourists visiting the Federation came from Poland, followed by tourists from Italy, Croatia and Slovenia.

The Muslim-Croat Federation is one of the two autonomous parts forming Bosnia. The other is the Serb Republic.
