February 8 (SeeNews) - Elektroprivreda Republike Srpske (ERS), the power utility of Bosnia and Herzegovina's Serb Republic, and Hungary's Lugos Renewables have doubled the planned capacity of Trebinje 1 photovoltaic plant project to 146 MW, Luka Petrovic, director general of ERS, said.

Due to the stabilisation of prices in the market, the investors will be installing solar panels with a higher capacity than originally planned, Petrovic said in an interview streamed by local TV station Herceg Televizija on Wednesday.

The value of the investment is over 100 million euro ($107.8 million). The power plant is expected to produce about 220 GWh of electricity per year.

Lugos Renewables will hold 70% equity interest in the project while ERS will control the remaining 30% interest, local media reported earlier.

The Serb Republic is one of two autonomous entities forming Bosnia and Herzegovina. The other one is the Federation.
