October 29 (SeeNews) - Bosnia's Zivinice municipal council said on Tuesday it has signed an agreement with power utility Elektroprivreda BiH (EPBiH) for the construction of a central heating system that will use the capacities of Tuzla thermal power plant.
The construction of the main pipeline which will bring hot water from Tuzla power station to the town of Zivinice, some 100 km north of Sarajevo, is expected to cost some 17 million marka ($9.6 million/8.7million euro) and will be financed by EPBIH, Zivinice's municipal government said in a press release.
Tuzla is located some 15 kilometres north of Zivinice.
The works should be completed in one year from their launch, while the commissioning of the heating system is scheduled for the end of 2022.
"Now we have to form teams which will identify all problems that could emerge during the works. This year, we will do the expropriation, determine the route and prepare the final main pipeline project," Zivinice mayor Samir Kamenjakovic said.
