The central bank anticipates economic slowdown in the fourth quarter of 2022, as external demand has decreased and inflation has accelerated, the central bank said in a statement.
The country's gross domestic product (GDP) expanded by 4% year-on-year in the third quarter of 2022.
Annual consumer price inflation is expected to reach 15.9% in the fourth quarter, while the average annual inflation for the whole year is estimated at 14%.
Bosnia's central bank sees inflation slowing down in the first half of 2023 as a result of the base effect and the effects of the monetary policy changes by major central banks.
However, a potential increase of prices of energy, products and services sold in the country could keep inflation at a higher level than anticipated, the central bank noted.
Bosnia and Herzegovina's economy expanded by 7.6% in 2021 after shrinking by 3.2% in the previous year.
