SARAJEVO (Bosnia and Herzegovina), September 2 (SeeNews) – Verimatrix, a provider of content security solutions, announced on Wednesday the successful deployment of its Verimatrix Video Content Authority System (VCAS) for IPTV for the IPTV service of Bosnia's biggest telecoms company, BH Telecom.
“The addition of IPTV services positions BH Telecom […] as a strong triple play provider to its 2 million subscribers,” Verimatrix (www.verimatrix.com) said in a statement posted on its website.
"Smart Com, the leading infrastructure architect for information society in Slovenia and a recognised system integrator in Europe, has integrated VCAS for IPTV content security with its BeeSmart platform, a complete middleware solution for IPTV systems. The integrated solution enables secure delivery of live TV channels in digital quality and video-on-demand (VOD) content, along with a powerful use electronic program guide to manage personal video recordings, voice calls via TV screen and play games for BH Telecom subscribers," the statement said.
“The right mix of channel variety, on demand content and innovative interactive features is a major factor for the widespread adoption by our subscribers,” BH Telecom’s general manager, Nedzad Residbegovic, said in the same statement.
“Verimatrix and Smart Com have a proven track record in Eastern European IPTV deployments and we are confident this platform will serve our long-term needs,” Residbegovic added.
State-owned BH Telecom is the largest of the three telecoms operating in post-war Bosnia, which comprises a Muslim-Croat Federation and a Serb Republic. The other two Bosnian telecoms are HT Mostar, which is active in the Federation, and Telekom Srpske which operates in the Serb Republic.
