October 27 (SeeNews) - Bosnia's unemployment rate rose to 42.1% in August from 41.8% a month earlier, the statistics office said on Tuesday.

The number of unemployed in the Balkan state was 500,683 in August versus 497,034 in July, the Agency for Statistics of Bosnia and Herzegovina said in a statement posted on its website.

Bosnia’s unemployment rate in August 2008 was 40.8%.

Bosnia, a country of some 4.0 million people, was split into two autonomous parts - the Muslim-Croat Federation and the Serb Republic, by the 1992-95 civil war.
