BANJA LUKA (Bosnia and Herzegovina), November 6 (SeeNews) – Bosnian coal mining and energy complex Ugljevik said it slumped to a loss of 5.58 million marka ($4.2 million/2.85 million euro) through September from a gross profit of 1.32 million marka a year earlier.
The company’s operating assets totalled 439.6 million marka at the end of September, down from 442.3 million marka nine months earlier.

The coal mine and the adjacent power plant are located in the northeastern part of the Serb Republic, which together with the Muslim-Croat Federation forms post-war Bosnia. The Ugljevik power plant is one of two coal-fired plants in the Serb Republic.
The other plant of the same capacity is part of the Gacko coal mine and power generation complex located in southern Bosnia.
The Serb Republic also has three groups of hydropower plants located along the rivers Drina, Trebisnjica and Vrbas.
