Bosnia Federation Aug Tourist Numbers Rise 2.7% Y/Y - Table

October 15 (SeeNews) - The number of tourists staying in Bosnia's Muslim-Croat Federation in August rose by 2.7% on the year to 35,180, official statistics showed on Wednesday.

Tourists spent 87,726 overnights in the Federation in August, down by 6.7% as compared to August 2007. Foreign nationals accounted for some two thirds of arrivals and overnights, the Federal Office of Statistics said in a statement.

Most foreign tourists in the Federation came from neighbouring Croatia, followed by tourists from Poland, Italy and Slovenia.

In the eight months of the year, tourist arrivals rose by 4.7% to 244,245.

The Muslim-Croat Federation is one of the two autonomous parts forming war-divided Bosnia. The other is the Serb Republic.
