Bosnia and Herzegovina - Media Review – November 16

NEZAVISNE NOVINE

- Indian steel maker Ispat Group is yet to invest 40 million marka in Bosnia’s Global Ispat Coking Industry Lukavac (GIKIL), a commitment it was obliged to honor 18 months ago, the Industry Minister of Bosnian canton Tuzla, Sehudin Ograsevic, said. GIKIL is based in the canton and was formed in 2003 as a 49/51 joint venture between state-controlled coking plant KHK Lukavac and Ispat Group.

- Bosnia's insurance market posted token growth in January-September, data from the industry regulator showed. The total premiums of insurers active in Bosnia’s Muslim-Croat Federation amounted to 256.1 million marka in the first nine months, compared to 253.9 million marka a year ago. In the Serb Republic, the market rose 1.3% on the year to 88.2 million marka.

DNEVNI AVAZ

- Kastamonu Entegre, the wood-based panels division of Turkey's Hayat Holding, plans to increase the capital of its Bosnian unit Natron-Hayat by 94 million marka, said Miralem Galijasevic, the Prime Minister of Bosnia’s Zenicko-Dobojski canton, where Natron-Hayat is based. The Turkish firm has so far invested more than 180 million marka and has raised its stake in the Bosnian company to 90%.
