Bosnia and Herzegovina - Media Review – December 17

- Bosnian oil refinery Bosanski Brod, majority-owned by Russian state oil firm Zarubezhneft, has restarted transporting oil products on the Sava river following a 20-year halt, refinery’s CEO Aleksandar Litvinenko said. The refinery, which had been idled for three years, restarted operations in November following its purchase by Zarubezhneft in 2007.

- Bosnia’s northern Gradiska municipality will soon invite investors to build production and service units in its new agro-industrial zone Nova Topola, covering a total area of 144 hectares, project-manager Nenad Kesic said.

- Radovan Bajic, director of Bosnia's NLB Razvojna Banka, which is controlled by Slovenia's NLB, has been elected head of Bosnia’s Banks Association. He will replace next year Dinu Osmanbegovic, a board member of Austria's Raiffeisenbank subsidiary in Bosnia.

- Bosnia's 2008 gross domestic product per capita was 31% of the EU's average, EU statistics office Eurostat said.
