ISTANBUL (Turkey), December 31 (SeeNews) – Borsa Istanbul (Istanbul Stock Exchange, BIST-100), has concluded a deal to establish a strategic alliance with the 300-year-old London Stock Exchange (LSE), local media reported on Wednesday.
CEO and general manager of Borsa Istanbul, Ibrahim Turhan, speaking at the 141th anniversary ceremony organised for Borsa Istanbul, noted that an agreement had been struck with the London Stock Exchange to promote BIST-100, and to close the difference between funds trade at Borsa Istanbul and global stock exchanges, according to daily Sabah.
"We have concluded an agreement with the London Stock Exchange in order to increase liquidity of some of the capital market instruments, and for our investment funds to have the ability to compete in global markets. Hopefully, the agreement will be officially signed in London on Jan. 20 by our prime minister," said Turhan.
