October 3 (SeeNews) - German carmaker BMW is considering building a plant in the western Romanian town of Lugoj, Bucharest-based media reported on Wednesday.

The investment would most probably exceed 1.0 billion euro ($1.28 million) and the plant would produce at least 100,000- 150,000 vehicles, financial daily Ziarul Financiar (www.zf.ro) reported quoting unnamed officials from Lugoj city hall.

“There is no concrete information on this matter so far,” a Lugoj city hall spokesperson told SeeNews over the phone.

Ziarul Financiar said BMW is also considering two towns in Hungary as possible location for the plant, as well as locations in Slovakia.
