Block deal in Slovenian drug maker Krka boosts Slovenian bourse turnover

August 10 (SeeNews) - Turnover on the Slovenian stock exchange rose on Thursday, as the bulk was generated by a block deal in the shares of drug maker Krka [LJE:KRKG], stock exchange data showed.

Krka generated a turnover of 2.43 million euro ($4.0 million), including a 2.2 million euro block deal for 40,000 shares. The company's shares closed 0.71% higher, at 55.0 euro.

Total trading turnover on the LJSE increased to 2.9 million euro on Thursday from 855,830 euro on Wednesday.

The SBITOP index, which tracks the most liquid and capitalised stocks on LJSE, rose 0.85% to 808.68 points, after falling 1.36% on Wednesday.

Finance company KD Group [LJE:KDHR] was the top blue-chip gainer on Thursday, closing 4.9% higher at 7.5 euro.

Insurer Zavarovalnica Triglav [LJE:ZVTG] fell the most among the blue chips on Thursday, as it closed 0.52% lower at 26.76 euro.
