The company plans to return to the Serbian market as the conditions are now favourable, Karic said, according to a statement issued on Wednesday by Serbian political party Jedinstvena Srbija, chaired by the mayor of Jagodina, Dragan Markovic.
BK Group plans to sell dwellings in Serbia at a price of 490 euro ($581) per square metre, Karic said.
The company is currently in charge of the construction of buildings with a total floor area of 3 million square metres in Minsk, including the international financial centre building in the Belarusian capital, Karic said.
Karic ran for president of Serbia in June 2004, winning nearly 20% of the vote. In 2005, legal action was launched against him on charges of abuse of office at mobile operator Mobtel, in which the state was holding a 49% stake. Karic did not appear in court in February 2006 and the legal action against him was terminated in December 2016, due to the lack of evidence.
