The store, located in the newly built Retail Park Shumen, has created more than 20 new jobs, Billa Bulgaria said in a press release.

The Shumen store has energy-efficient refrigeration systems, LED lighting and electronic labels, as well as express self-service checkouts.

Last month, Billa Bulgaria opened its first Billa Today store in the south-central city of Plovdiv, worth over 2 million levs.

The Austria-based supermarket chain operator has been active in Bulgaria since 2000 and employs more than 5,200 staff.
