Belgrade Share Indices Extend Gains, AIK Banka Boosts Turnover

BELGRADE (Serbia), September 23 (SeeNews) – The Belgrade share indices extended their gains on Wednesday in surging turnover due to increased trading in shares of blue-chip lender AIK Banka, bourse data showed.

AIK Banka shares edged up 0.26% to 3,102 dinars in a turnover of 203 million dinars.

The blue-chip BELEX15 index of the Belgrade Stock Exchange gained 2.09% to 843.52 points after rising 0.16% on Tuesday. The broader BELEXline index rose 1.55% to 1,579.23 points after going up 1.42% a day earlier.

The joint SRX index of the bourses in Belgrade and Vienna added 3.48% to 385.53 on Wednesday.

The Belgrade bourse's total turnover surged to 322 million dinars ($2.1 million/1.4 million euro) from 134 million dinars on Tuesday. Trade in government bonds accounted for 23 million dinars of the day's turnover, up from 19 million a day earlier.

Blue-chip lender Komercijalna Banka climbed 1.02% to 37,500 dinars in the second largest turnover of 44 million dinars.

Blue-chip rubber and chemicals group Tigar shed 3.32% to 960 dinars in the third largest turnover of 8.0 million dinars.

Another blue-chip lender, Metals Banka, was again the day's biggest gainer, jumping 17.02% to 8,837 dinars.

Commercial bank Cacanska Banka was the session’s biggest loser, falling 11.41% to 23,122 dinars.

Gainers outnumbered decliners by 25 to 17, while the shares of 21 companies ended flat on Wednesday.
