The underpass will help alleviate traffic jams in the Serbian capital, connecting the two parts of the city divided by the Sava and Danube rivers, Sapic said in a press release following a visit to the construction site earlier this week.

The project is financed by the Belgrade city government. The deadline for executing the project is 450 days.

The works are carried out by a consortium comprising Belgrade-based companies Traffic Institute CIP, Ras Engineering Novkol, Montprojekt, and Starting.
