Operating income increased 11.5% on the year to 3.555 billion dinars in the first half of 2017, while operating expenses rose 12.3% to 1.874 billion dinars, Aerodrom Nikola Tesla said in a filing with the Belgrade bourse on Tuesday.

Revenues from the sales of products and services reached 3.098 billion dinars in the first three months of 2017, up from 2.724 billion dinars a year earlier.

The airport operator said in April it targeted passenger traffic of 5.5 million in 2017.

Belgrade airport serviced record-high 2.312 million passengers in the first half of 2017, up 9% year-on-year.

The Serbian government directly controls a 83.15% stake in the capital of Aerodrom Nikola Tesla, with the remainder in the hands of retail investors. Earlier this month, the government extended the deadline for submitting binding offers in a tender for awarding a 25-year concession contract for operating Belgrade airport to October 23. The initial deadline was September 4.
