BELEX15 rises 0.45%, Messer surges

February 9 (SeeNews) - The blue-chip BELEX15 index of the Belgrade Stock Exchange closed 0.45% higher at 895.08 points on Friday, boosted by a rise in the share price of industrial gases producer Messer Tehnogas [BEL:TGAS], bourse data showed.

Messer added 4.61% to 18,307 dinars. A total of 1,036 Messer shares changed hands, resulting in the day’s largest turnover of 19 million dinars.

Oil and gas company NIS [BEL:NIIS] closed 0.25% higher at 804 dinars.

At the other end, cookware maker Metalac [BEL:MTLC] paced the blue-chip decliners, shedding 2.94% to 1,550 dinars.

The broader BELEXline, a free-float market capitalisation weighted index also rose, by 0.30% to 1,954.42 points.

Total turnover on the Belgrade bourse fell to 27.8 million dinars ($255,600/237,100 euro) on Friday from 35.2 million dinars on Thursday. Trading in Treasury bonds accounted for 840,088 dinars of Friday's turnover.

Between February 5 and February 9, the BELEX15 increased 1.23%, while the BELEXline rose 0.88%. Total trading turnover on the Belgrade Stock Exchange fell to 256.2 million dinars this week, from 718.2 million dinars last week.
