BELEX15 loses ground, NIS paces blue-chip decliners

June 5 (SeeNews) - The blue-chip BELEX15 index of the Belgrade Stock Exchange lost ground on Wednesday, with oil and gas company NIS [BEL:NIIS] pacing the blue-chip losers, bourse data showed.

BELEX15 shed 0.77% to close at 985.34 points.

NIS fell 2.73% to 818 dinars at close. It generated the single highest daily turnover of 11.2 million dinars.

At the other end, Aerodrom Nikola Tesla [BEL:AERO] led the gainers, adding 0.26% to close at 1,900 dinars.

The broader BELEXline, a free-float market capitalisation weighted index, also fell, closing 0.47% lower at 2,194.73 points.

Total turnover on the Belgrade bourse jumped to 166.7 million dinars ($1.55 million/1.43 million euro) on Wednesday from 18.7 million dinars on Tuesday, lifted by trading in government bonds. Trading in Treasury bonds accounted for 152.4 million dinars of Wednesday's turnover versus just 403,300 dinars on Tuesday.
