April 9 (SeeNews) - The blue-chip BELEX15 index of the Belgrade Stock Exchange closed 0.68% higher at 999.95 points on Tuesday, boosted by gains in oil and gas company NIS [BEL:NIIS] and cookware maker Metalac [BEL:MTLC], bourse data showed.
NIS closed 4.05% higher at 900 dinars. A total of 42,850 NIS shares changed hands generating the day's largest turnover of 38.6 million dinars.
Metalac added 3% to 1,649 dinars in a volume of 309 shares.
At the same time, construction company Jedinstvo [BEL:JESV] paced the blue-chip decliners, closing 6.74% lower at 6,900 dinars.
The broader BELEXline, a free-float market capitalisation weighted index, rose 0.11% to 2,154.13 points.
Total turnover on the Belgrade bourse rose to 49.5 million dinars ($459,700/422,800 euro) on Tuesday from 5.7 million dinars on Monday. Trading in Treasury bonds accounted for 9.3 million dinars of Tuesday's turnover.
