Banja Luka bourse's index BIRS falls in Nov amid higher turnover

December 1 (SeeNews) - Total trading turnover of Bosnia's Banja Luka Stock Exchange (BLSE) surged to 53.5 million marka ($29.8 million/27.4 million euro) in November, compared with 4.6 million marka generated in October, as the bourse's benchmark index went down, the bourse said on Friday.

Equity turnover from regular trading on the BLSE totalled 1.1 million marka in November, lower than 2.1 million marka in the prior month, the bourse said in a monthly report.

The BLSE's total trading turnover amounted to 64.5 million marka in November 2022.

A total of 524 transactions were concluded on the Banja Luka bourse in November, compared with 391 in the previous month and 498 transactions in November 2022.

The BLSE's total market capitalisation amounted to 4.99 billion marka in November, down from 5.06 billion marka the prior month. The bourse's total market capitalisation came in at 4.66 billion marka in November 2022.

The BLSE’s benchmark index, the BIRS, closed at 802.80 points at the end of November, down 8.77% compared to the end-October value and 2.25% lower compared with its closing value at the end of November 2022.

Telekom Srpske [BANJ:TLKM-R-A] contributed the largest portion of total trading turnover among the companies on the BLSE in November, of 469,052 marka. The company's shares closed the month at 1.17 marka, slightly down from 1.19 marka at the end of October.

The BLSE is based in the Serb Republic, one of two autonomous entities that form Bosnia and Herzegovina. The Sarajevo Stock Exchange (SASE) is based in the other entity, the Federation.
