Banja Luka bourse main index, turnover fall in April

May 2 (SeeNews) - Total trading turnover of Bosnia's Banja Luka Stock Exchange (BLSE) decreased to 36.9 million marka ($20.2 million/18.9 million euro) in April, compared with 112.3 million marka generated in March, the bourse said.

Equity turnover from regular trading on the BLSE totalled 1.2 million marka in April, lower than 6.1 million marka in the prior month, the bourse said in a monthly report earlier this week.

The BLSE's total trading turnover amounted to 6.8 million marka in April 2023.

A total of 404 transactions were concluded on the Banja Luka bourse in April, compared with 612 in the previous month and 380 transactions in April 2023.

The BLSE's total market capitalisation amounted to 5.31 billion marka in April, up from 5.30 billion marka the prior month. The bourse's total market capitalisation came in at 4.77 billion marka in April 2023.

The BLSE’s benchmark index, the BIRS, closed at 914.04 points at the end of April, down 1.4% compared to the end-March value and 12.38% higher compared with its closing value at the end of April 2023.

Telekom Srpske [BANJ:TLKM] contributed the largest portion of total trading turnover among the companies on the BLSE in April, of 652,642 marka. The company's shares closed at 1.37 marka at the end of April, slightly down compared with 1.38 marka at the end of the previous month.

The BLSE is based in the Serb Republic, one of two autonomous entities that form Bosnia and Herzegovina. The Sarajevo Stock Exchange (SASE) is based in the other entity, the Federation.
