March 6 (SeeNews) - Austrian electronic components maker Schiebel Antriebstechnik has opened a new factory in the central Serbian city of Jagodina, the government in Belgrade said.
The new plant was opened on March 5, the government said in a statement without providing any other details on the project.
Local broadcaster RTS reported on Tuesday that Schiebel's production facility in Jagodina covers an area of more than 1,300 square metres. The plant now employs 20 workers but there are plans to double this number by the end of August.
Family-owned Schiebel has expanded from a regional mechanical engineering company into a global technology company. It has seven offices in Europe, Turkey, the US and the United Arab Emirates, and 30 sales partners across the globe that help it support customers and projects in more than 50 countries on all continents, Schiebel says on its website.
Schiebel focuses on advancing the smart integration of mechatronic systems in product development. It specialises in refining IoT concepts and regularly tests new cloud solutions and WLAN standards.
