The company provided no comparative figures. It said in a report published on its website that net earnings are based on the IFRS reporting package since statutory or a country-specific financial statement are not yet available.

The cathode output at the Pirdop site amounted to 227,000 tonnes over the review period compared to 221,000 tonnes in the previous year.

Aurubis’ capital expenditures in Bulgaria reached $30.6 million (23.4 million euro) in the period under review, up from $10.2 million a year earlier. In 2011, the company launched a 44.2 million euro investment programme, which aims to raise both the productivity and the environmental safety of its Bulgarian-based plant.
