After carrying out a study of the terrain and project design, Vega is now installing the supporting structures for the photovoltaic panels, it said in a LinkedIn post on Thursday.

The government said it had granted approval to 5GX to develop the project in May 2023. The plant’s designated area is situated near the coastal village of Golem, in the central-western part of the country.

5GX Energy was established in 2022, to produce electricity from photovoltaic, wind, and hydro power plants, according to the business register. It is owned by local businessmen Agim Xhindoli and Fatjon Bruci.

Vega Group was established as Vega Solar in 2018, focusing on rooftop solar array installations, according to the Albanian business register. In 2022, it rearranged its renewable energy activities to focus on photovoltaic parks.
