Albania’s Timak to unveil first military vehicle prototype

May 30 (SeeNews) - Albanian vehicle structures manufacturer Timak said on Thursday it is building its first prototype of armoured military vehicle, which will be completed next week.

The company will unveil the prototype on June 17, at the Eurosatory defence and security exhibition in Paris, Timak CEO Arjeta Puca told SeeNews by phone.

Timak's website now features a new category of vehicles for police and military use, including vehicles for protection from explosion, Light Utility SUVs for personnel and equipment transport, light tactical pickups for flexible terrain transport, and heavy-duty personnel Carriers for large troop transport.

Puca declined to say when production of the new vehicle is expected to start.

Established in 2016, Timak focuses on production, conversion and installation of superstructures of various vehicles, such as ambulances, fire trucks, water tankers, winter and summer road maintenance vehicles, sewage cleaning machines, pile drivers, mobile truck solutions and other similar conversions, according to its website. It has offices in Bulgaria, North Macedonia, Kosovo, Turkey and Montenegro.
