SPV Blue 1 will now be able to trade in Alpex’s day-ahead market, Alpex said in post on LinkedIn on Monday.
Alpex, founded by Albania’s power transmission operator OST and Kosovo’s KOSTT in October 2020, introduced cross-trading in the day ahead market for the Albanian and Kosovo bidding zones on January 31.
SPV Blue 1 is a joint venture between Albanian construction firm Matrix Konstruksion and Albanian investor Blessed Investment, aimed at building a 50 MW photovoltaic (PV) power plant near the southwestern town of Fier. The power plant is set to generate more than 108,000 MWh of clean energy annually.
In February, Matrix Konstruksion said the Dutch unit of German testing company TUeV Nord was testing the PV park.
The Blue 1 plant is part of a 100 MW solar power project that Matrix Konstruksion and Blessed Investment are developing, which consists of two separate sites with 50 MW capacity each, the joint venture has said on its website.
