Albania's Q2 Producer Prices Fall 0.5% Y/Y, Down 0.1% Q/Q

September 15 (SeeNews) - Albania's producer price index (PPI) fell by an annual 0.5% in the second quarter of 2009 and was 0.1% lower than in the first quarter of the year, the country's statistics office INSTAT said in Tuesday.

In the first quarter Albania's PPI was 0.9% higher on the year and was 2.1% lower on the quarter.

The index measured 108.6 points in the second quarter, compared to a 100-points baseline set in 2005, and to 108.8 points in the first quarter.

Producer price index for the mining industry rose 0.5% on the quarter and 5.8% on the year. PPI index for the processing industry fell 0.2% on the quarter and 1.2% on the year, while for the gas, water supply and energy distribution utilities the PPI was not changed on the quarter but rose by 0.6% on the year.
