May 23 (SeeNews) - The municipality of Albanian capital Tirana said it has signed a 95.2 million leks ($1 million/950,000 euro) contract with local diversified services provider Liqeni VII for the implementation of a road infrastructure improvement project, following a public tender.
Liqeni VII’s contract value is lower than the budgeted project cost of 130 million leks, Tirana municipality said in a notice earlier this week.
The project comprises three components: construction of bus lanes at different locations across Tirana, upgrade of central bus station, and construction of a roundabout aiming to alleviate traffic jams at a road junction in the municipality of Kamez near the capital, the municipality said earlier in tender documents.
Liqeni VII must complete the works within nine months from the contract signing.
According to the business register, Liqeni VII was established in 1999. It specializes in the production, trade, import-export, and distribution of industrial materials, machinery, and spare parts, along with offering extensive services in construction, forestry, waste management, real estate, tourism, and ICT.
