The bidding deadline is August 22 and the preferred criteria will be the lowest price offered, according to a request for offers posted on KESH website.

The contracts will be financed with the proceeds of a 22.4 million ($26.4 million) financing for energy imports from the World Bank, the power corporation said.

The financing is part of a $150 million loan lent by the World Bank to Albania in 2014 to fund the reform in the country's energy sector.

Last week, the Albanian government increased its fund for energy imports by 3 billion leks ($26.7 million/22.6 million euro) to 4.5 billion leks, due to the prolonged drought this summer that has limited the output capacity of its hydropower plants.
