Albania's H1 budget surplus declines on higher expenditures - table

August 14 (SeeNews) - Albania posted a budget surplus of 3.0 billion leks ($26.7 million/22.6 million euro) in the first half of 2017, compared to a surplus of 17.3 billion leks a year earlier, according to preliminary data released by the finance ministry.

The decline resulted from a 15.5% annual increase in total expenditures to 209.2 billion leks, as both current and capital expenditures rose, the data showed.

Total budget revenue grew 7% to 212.2 billion leks.

Albania recorded a budget deficit of 26.7 billion leks last year, lower than the planned 35.7 billion leks shortfall.
