Albania's Gjo-Spa Power launches 15 mln euro HPP - govt

TIRANA (Albania), November 5 (SeeNews) – Albanian firm Gjo-Spa Power, part of Italy’s ETEA group, has launched a 15 million euro ($19.4 million) hydropower plant (HPP) on Bushtrice river, in northeastern Albania, the government said.

The Lapaj HPP has an installed capacity of 13.62 megawatts (MW) and an annual production capacity of 49,865 megawatt hours, the government said in a statement posted on its website on Sunday.

Local and Italian investors plan to build another six HPPs with a total capacity of over 50 MW on the Bushtrice river.
