Albania's economic confidence index falls in May

The decline was driven by lower confidence in the industry and construction sectors, as well as a drop in the consumer confidence index, Bank of Albania said in a monthly business and consumer confidence survey.

In May, the industry and construction confidence indicators inched down by 0.6 percentage points (pp) each, whereas the consumer confidence index dropped 4.9 pp.

On the upside, the services confidence indicator rose 2.1 pp to stand 24 pp above its historical average. The trade confidence indicator also increased, by 1.3 percentage points, standing 14 pp above the historical average.
