Albania’s Durrеs port Jan-Sept cargo traffic up 15%

TIRANA (Albania), October 11 (SeeNews) – Albania's largest sea port of Durres handled 3.12 million tonnes of cargo in the first nine months of 2019, up 15% year-on-year, the port authority said.

Most of the goods, about 2.44 million tonnes, were carried by cargo ships, up 18%, according to data published by the Durres port authority on Thursday.

At Durres port, 680,000 tonnes of goods were carried by ferries, up 5% compared to January-September 2018.

In 2018, the port of Durres handled 3.6 million tonnes of cargo, down from 3.7 million tonnes in the previous year.
