Albania’s Credins Bank Q1 net profit down 19% y/y

May 20 (SeeNews) - Albania’s Credins Bank said it booked a net profit of 632.8 million leks ($6.8 million/6.3 million euro) in the first three months of 2024, a decrease from a profit of 780.7 million leks reported for the same period of 2023.

The lender’s loan portfolio totalled 144.3 billion leks at the end of March, up 5% from a year earlier, Credins Bank said in an interim financial report last week.

Credins Bank’s deposit portfolio expanded to 279.5 billion leks as at end-March, from 260 billion leks a year earlier.

Total assets increased 8% year-on-year to 323.8 billion leks at the end of March.

Credins Bank was the second largest bank among eleven banks operating in Albania at the end of the first quarter, holding 16.3% of the total assets of the country's banking system, according to the Albanian banks' association, AAB.
