May 20 (SeeNews) - The Albanian Development Fund (ADF) said it has awarded local construction firm Colombo a 121.2 million leks ($1.3 million/1.2 million euro) contract for the reconstruction of an art centre in Lushnje, in the centre-west part of the country.

Albania’s Colombo gets arts centre revamp deal

Colombo won in a price-per-service-based tendering process where twenty-one other companies participated, ADF said in a tender winner’s notice last week. Its offer was lower than the estimated budget of 176 million leks.

The tender winner must complete the reconstruction of the arts centre within a year. The centre, named after Albanian communist-era singer Vace Zela, was built in 1974 and is currently inactive.

Colombo was established in 1999. It is wholly owned by local businesswoman Diana Laba.
