Albania's budget surplus at 152 million euro in Jan

February 23 (SeeNews) - Albania's consolidated budget was in surplus of 15.8 billion leks ($164 million/152 million euro) in January 2024, up 2.9% compared with January 2023, finance ministry data showed on Friday.

Consolidated budget revenue rose to 54.4 billion leks in January, an 8% yearly increase, whereas expenditures increased by 10.3% to 38.6 billion leks, the finance ministry said in a statement, quoting preliminary figures.

Tax revenue increased by 15.5% to 35.4 billion leks, with value-added tax proceeds up 18.3% to 8.4 billion leks.

Albania's consolidated budget was in deficit of 31.3 billion leks at the end of 2023, finance ministry data showed earlier this week.
