Fier will have buildings with no more than 10 floors, the daily quoted the general inspector at Fiers Construction Inspectorate, Sabedin Aliaj, as saying.

Fier, some 140 kilometers southwest from the capital Tirana, is mainly an industrial town. Albania’s sole thermal power plant is located there. Another, 40 MW, diesel oil-fired power plant is expected to be built in Fier.

The two main refineries of the sole oil refiner and distributor ARMO are located in Fier.
