Albanian private supplementary pension funds end-June net assets up 37% on end-2011

TIRANA (Albania), October 4 (SeeNews) – The net assets of Albania's private supplementary pension funds totalled 211.6 million leks ($2.0 million/1.5 million euro) at the end of June, up 36.7% on end-2011, the country's financial regulator said.

Sigal, part of Austria's Uniqa Group, was the market leader at the end of June with total assets of 97.7 million leks, the Albanian Financial Supervisory Authority said in a regular report on Wednesday.

The total number of the pension funds' account holders rose by 3.8% from the end of 2011.

Sigal account holders accounted for 46.85% of the total, up from 46.44% at the end of March. Next came Raiffeisen with a 36.52% share and Turkish-Albanian pension fund SiCRED with 16.64%.
