September 4 (SeeNews) - Albanian prime minister Edi Rama announced on Monday a cabinet reshuffle in a move to adjust the government's priorities with a focus on strengthening the justice system and transforming the country to an upscale tourist destination.
The ministers of finance, EU integration, agriculture, health and enterprise will be replaced and a new ministry in charge of local governance will be set up, Rama said during a meeting of the ruling Socialist Party, as seen in a video in social media.
The executive director of the financial supervisor, Ervin Mete, will replace as finance and economy minister Delina Ibrahimaj, who will be appointed enterprise minister.
Anila Denaj, who served in the office of the finance minister from 2019 to 2021, will take over as minister of agriculture, while Ogerta Manastirliu will replace Evis Kushi as education minister. Manastirliu currently holds the position of health minister. She will be succeeded to the post by Albana Kociu.
Igli Hasani, a coordinator of economic and environmental activities at the Organization for Security and Co-operation in Europe (OSCE), will be the new EU affairs minister.
Furthermore, the public service standards ministry will be reorganised into a ministry responsible for the alignment in the policies of the central government and local authorities. It will be headed by the deputy major of Tirana, Ardian Mazniku.
