TIRANA (Albania), February 27 (SeeNews) – The gross written premiums of Albanian insurers increased to 1.3 billion leks ($11.4 million/10 million euro) in January, up 0.23% year-on-year, official figures show.
Gross written premiums from non-life insurance added 0.31% to 1.2 billion leks in the first month of the year, while the life insurance segment earned premiums of 90 million leks, up 1.5%, according to figures published on the website of the Albanian Financial Supervisory Authority (AFSA) late on Tuesday.
Total gross claims paid increased to 380 million leks as at the end of January, from 332 million leks a year earlier.
The statistics comprise data from eight insurance companies operating in Albania.
