TIRANA (Albania), September 27 (SeeNews) – The gross written premiums of Albanian insurers increased to 11.1 billion leks ($102.8 million/87.5 million euro) in the first eight months of 2018, up 5.75% year-on-year, official figures show.
Gross written premiums from non-life insurance added 6.28% year-on-year to 10.3 billion leks in the January-August period, while the life insurance segment earned premiums of 742.8 million leks, down 2.16%, according to figures published on the website of the Albanian Financial Supervisory Authority (AFSA) late on Wednesday.
Total gross claims paid decreased to 3.1 billion leks at the end of August from 3.4 billion leks a year earlier.
The statistics comprises data from eight insurance companies operating in Albania.
