Albanian-based Companies Antea Cement, Diekat Sign 3.12 Mln Euro Construction Deal

October 23 (SeeNews) - Albanian-based company Antea Cement has signed a 3.12 million euro ($4.0 million) construction deal with Diekat Ndertim&Konstruksion, the Albanian unit of Greece's Diekat, the Greek parent company said on its website.

Antea Cement is majority-owned by Greek building materials manufacturer Titan.

Antea Cement started the construction of a 170 million euro cement plant in Albania in mid-2008.

The deal signed between the two companies covers the construction of an internal road network, hydraulic surface drainage system and water treatment reservoirs. The implementation of the project is expected to last one year, Diekat said.

The cement plant - the biggest greenfield investment in Albania, is expected to become operational by December 2009. It has a design output capacity of 1.5 million tonnes of cement per year.
